Master Gardeners are committed to learning and to communicating their knowledge of gardening to others. Master Gardeners will direct their efforts to creating and maintaining an awareness of the need for intelligent stewardship of the environment.


  • Next meeting November 18th This is our annual meeting plus pot luck plus election new board plus voting on new bylaws.
    We still start setting up about 5:30pm at the Mont. Co Gov't Center and things start at SIX pm. There are some kitchen facilities there. Bring eating utensils if you can.
  • Commuity Grants for 2017 information is now available. We will have approximately four thousand available this year.

  • Classes to become a Master Gardener Will begin in the spring 2017. Please contact Montgomery County Extension office 540 - 382-5790. Becoming a master gardener involves lots of learning, but also some hours to "payback" the hours of teaching. Fewer volunteer hours are required yearly once you stay in the program. Classes this year will be on Tuesday/Thursday afternoons 1-4pm. First (orientation) class is Feb 28th. There is a fee for class materials.
  • NRV Master Gardener Assoc will provide speakers on a wide variety of gardening topics. Remember; "gardening" covers a big range of stuff. If your club/group/school might need a speaker, contact the NRV coordinator at (540) 382-5790

  • 2016 Training Classes will not happen this year Exension will try again next year.
